2009 WORLD COMPETITIONS of Cocktail and Flairtending - The drink for 2010.
Held in Berlin, Germany on 10 and 11 August 2009. The WCC champion is Mr Vladimir Banak of Slovak Republic with 'Sweet Road' consisting of:
- 3 cl Absolut Raspberri
- 1.5 cl Monin Creme de Casis Liqueur
- 1 cl Monin Vanilla Syrup
- 1 cl Monin Strawberry Syrup
- 1.5 cl Cream (float)
Shake and strained into Libbey Bravura glass garnished with Cacao powder.
The Winners are:
- World Cocktail Winner, Vladimir Banak, SKBA (Slovak Republic)
- Flairtending Winner Gianluigi Bosco, UKBG (Great Britain),
- Efficiency Prize Winner, Wu Jou Wen, BAT (Taiwan),

2008 Angelo Zola Prize was awarded to Jorge Moniz Pereira of Portugal. Jorge passion for the bartending begins in 1967 and has never looked back. Jorge was instrumental in setting the Algrave Bartender Association of Portugal. He is currently the EDC chairman. |

From 2 to 17 July 2009 the 6th Elite Bartenders Course - South America was held in Sao Paul, Brazil.. There were a total of 67 students coming from 12 States of Brazil. The course was conducted at the Anhembi Morumbi University. Messrs Jorge Moniz EDC Chairman and Larry Naylor - EDC Southern Hemisphere were present to conduct the course. Click here for photos... |

The VIP that visited the 2009 Congress
The former Premier of Taiwan, Republic of China, Mr Frank Hsieh visited the IBA 2009 Congress in Berlin. Mr Hsieh was there to give support to Taiwan competitors.

The support by the Taiwanese Government for the Bartending industry goes a long way. From day one our Vice President, Tom Kuo has been very active in promoting the Bartending culture in Taiwan and has gained the recognisition of the Ministry of Education,Taiwan. There are now more than 500 high schools and colleges conducting Bartending and beverages courses for its students.
